Q What does RYT mean?

A. RYT stands for Registered Yoga Teacher which is a credential earned by Yoga teachers who have been trained as per the Yoga Alliance Standards through an RYS which is a Registered Yoga School. Rishikesh Yoga School is a Registered Yoga School that provides RYT 200 hour, 300 hour, 500 hour certifications to the students. This certification is globally valid and can be very beneficial for a Yogic career

Q How can I register myself as an RYT on Yoga Alliance?

A. On successful completion of the course, we will provide you with a certificate that has RYT stamp. You can register yourself on the Yoga Alliance website by uploading this certificate. Your application will then be approved by us after which your name will be listed as an RYT on the Yoga Alliance Website.

Q What is the strength of each class?

A. To ensure quality, we have 15-18 students in each batch so attention can be equally given to all students and all the questions can be answered. We have 4-5 teachers for each batch so the student-teacher ratio is also maintained for you to have the best knowledge-sharing experience.

Q I have never done Yoga. Will I still be eligible?

A. For 100-hour YTTC and 200-hour YTTC you don’t need to have any prior experience. These courses are designed for students who wish to start their Yogic journey. Also, it is a great way to begin your journey, as you will be trained from the basics and on all the topics like pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and body awareness by way of anatomy and alignment and asana practice.

Q Who is eligible for 300-hour YTTC?

A. On completion of the 200-hour course, the students are eligible for the 300-hour course, as then both put together the certification is of RYT 500 which is the advanced level certification as per Yoga Alliance standards. Students who have completed a 200-hour course from any other Registered Yoga school are also eligible for the 300-hour course at Rishikesh Yogshala.

Q What will be the language of teaching?

A. As students come from all parts of the world, the language of teaching will be English. Our teachers are well qualified in their respective subjects and ensure the knowledge is delivered in the best possible way for all our students to understand.

Q Can I bring my family along with me?

A. If as a family you would like to do the course, you are welcome. However, we don’t allow any small kids in the sessions. So if you have any, please ensure you have a caretaker along with you so you don’t miss the class.

Q Do I need to bring my own Yoga mat and other accessories?

A. You will be provided with a Yoga mat, blocks and straps in the school for the time of your course and the same has to be submitted back to the school after the closing ceremony. However, if you wish to get your own Yoga mat, you can get it.
